Clever Carpet Bags
I love the moment in Mary Poppins when Mary reaches into her small carpet bag and pulls out a giant lamp and mirror! Wouldn’t it be great to have a clever carpet bag for your kid’s ministry? No more missing scissors or too-few glue sticks. Your kid would watch with wonder as you pulled out an extra chair or table, or maybe a few goats to set the stage for your story!
All magic aside, it’s always good to have a sack full of handy essentials for prep-time and in-the-moment ideas. So grab your Walk With Me tote or one of those sturdy cloth bags from the grocery store. Then raid your church supply closet and create a portable prep pack for your teaching convenience.
Here’s what’s in mine:
- My leader’s guide
- My music CD
- A note pad
- A small Bible
- An NIrV picture Bible
- Several pens
- A highlighter
- A skein of yarn
- A roll of masking tape
- A mini stapler (with extra staples)
- A package of crayons
- A small stack of construction paper
- A few paper plates
- A permanent marker
- A small section of newspaper
